Big Brother IS Watching

Hello strange people whom I've never met and know nothing about. What is that flying overhead? Don't be surprised if it's a military drone (yes, the same ones tracking terrorists in the middle east)spying on YOU! That's right. First we find out (according to CBS in LA)that law enforcement agencies have been using military drones to spy on people they would otherwise need a warrant to observe. Seems they're using a loophole in the law that allows our military to spy on our people without a warrant. The information gathered is then turned over to local law enforcement. Since said info comes from a "third party" it skirts our fourth amendment rights. Charming. Now we learn that the EPA is using military drones to "observe" American farmers in the Midwest! Farmers in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri are having their "livestock operations" monitored for possible violations of the Clean Water Act according to the EPA. They say what they are doing is cost effective and perfectly legal, and it well may be. But is it right? Where does it end? First law enforcement uses military drones to locate illegal drug operations (or so they say). We say "Well, that's okay. We need to get these drugs off the streets". Then the EPA starts using them to look for environmental violations (or so they say). We say "Well, polluting the environment is dangerous and should be monitored". Traffic cameras now catch scofflaws in the act. Police cameras in high crime neighborhoods catch criminals in the act. "Well, if people are breaking the law...". Tomorrow, when you get called into the boss's office and told your paycheck is being docked because the security camera caught you leaving early on Friday, or you get a fine in the mail for littering, you may start to change your mind. Inch by inch we are losing our most basic freedoms. Your right to privacy is all but gone already. You may recall the oft misquoted words of Pastor Martin Niemoeller; "When first the Nazis came for the communists, I remained silent. I was not a communist..." Po
